The key to making faster sales is making sure your Poshmark photos look great.

Poshmark makes the reselling process so easy but it’s important to take pride in the photos you use to list your items. Potential buyers will get a great first impression of your Poshmark closet by using high quality images.

You can use up to 16 images per item so be sure to include as many as possible to accurately represent the condition. Make sure to take pictures of all details, including flaws.

If you have a lot of items, yes this part can be tedious but it’s important to take your time and get it right the first time.

Before I knew how to get it right, I had to take photos over again. Which is so time consuming so please, learn from my mistakes with the advice below! I hope you find my Poshmark tips helpful.

It’s no secret that you should always try to use natual light when possible. You can stage your items however you like: on a hanger, mannequin or a flat lay.

If you aren’t using a lighting kit yet, then set your photos up in direct sunlight to get the best natural light. Many resellers even take photos outside!

I also highly recommend using a light colored background such as a backdrop, white door/wall, lightly stained wood, white sheet/fabric, etc. A white background does wonders for product images in conjunction with good lighting.

Make sure to take advantage of ALL the best reseller tools & supplies out there to help increase your sales and maximize your profits.

I will admit that I have been selling items online for many years and just recently purchased a lighting kit. Yes, it was a game changer but I made a lot of money before I got one.

Poshmark truly makes it very simple for you to list. All you truly need to get started is a smartphone and a printer to print the USPS Priority Shipping label once your item sells.

If you’re ready to take your Poshmark closet and business to the next level, there are a few items that will help take you and your photos there.

Here are a few items that will get you there:

Staging Your Poshmark Photos

Making your Poshmark photos pop is super important! You also want to be sure they are centered and the full item shows.

Less is more. You can use photo props but keep it minimal and clean with a plain white background. Especially when you’re using flat lays.

Photo Sizing & Aspect Ratio

When you use the Poshmark app to take your photos, they’re taken in square mode. I usually use the square photo option on the iPhone because you can edit them as you wish. The Poshmark app does have filters but you can’t edit them beyond that.

If you’re using the camera on your phone, simply adjust your settings to shoot in a 1:1 ratio.

Editing Your Poshmark Photos

  • Crop: the “crop” tool on any photo app that you use will be key to making sure your photos look good with square sizing.
  • Lighting: Use your app to edit the lighting as needed but don’t overdo it. You want to make the item look good but don’t do so in a way that hides any flaws.

Take Several Photos

The app allows you to include as many Poshmark photos as you need to (well, up to 16 photos anyway). You’ll want to use this to your advantage.

Be sure to take photos from all angles to accurately depict the item’s condition and highlight any flaws. Take close up photos of all flaws. If the item is used, that’s okay! The buyer won’t mind, but they do need to know what to expect when they receive it.

You’ll also want to include photos the brand tag, size, fabric content and care instructions.

Did you know that most fabric content and care instructions on the inner left or right side of most garments?

PS: Do you sell across multiple platforms? Vendoo is an excellent tool and game changer in the world of cross-listing. With this listing app, you can post listings on Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Etsy, Grailed, Depop, Tradesy and Kidizen.

Let’s face it, posting across more than one platform is very time consuming. But with Vendoo, you can list on ALL of them at once!
