How I’ve Grown my Poshmark Following to Over 180K & How You Can, Too!

A successful Poshmark closet is not born overnight.
It took me around 3 years to get my following up to 180K Poshmark followers and growing.
If you’re a Poshmark seller, you understand how important it is to share items not only from your own closet, but from other closets as well.
Poshmark has a unique algorithm that rewards you for sharing by putting your items in front of the eyeballs of your followers, and their followers, etc.
Here are the key ways I have successfully (almost) achieved over 180K.
These tips are in no particular order, but I feel they are all important!
1. Share in the Poshmark app Like Crazy
Every time I load up my Poshmark app or visit the site on my laptop, I share the items that are “above the fold”. Meaning that I don’t scroll down unless I have the time to invest.
It’s always been important to me to share those first few items that pop up!
2. Promote Your Closet on Social Media
Use the various social media platforms to promote your closet and items.
My favorite platform to share on is Pinterest, and I use Tailwind to continually schedule items from my closet to be shared via Pinterest.
I think this one has been MAJOR in building a following on Poshmark (and here on my blog as well!).
Instagram is also an excellent way to build a following and promote your Posh closet. You can also use Tailwind to schedule posts for Instagram as well. Win-win!

Random fact: If your Facebook friend joins Poshmark, they’ll automatically follow your closet!
3. Share Items to Poshmark Parties
Every single day, Poshmark hosts several themed parties.
Be sure to not only share your items to these parties, but jump in and share items from other sellers. This is a great way to get your closet out there, and to help others!
Sharing keeps the listings at the top of search results, brand pages, followers’ Feeds, and showrooms!
5. Connect with Posh Ambassadors
Go to the “Find People” Menu, and under “Connect with Posh Ambassadors”, go through and Follow each of the closets that pop up! I do this several times per day and there are always new closets to follow.
6. Follow “New People” & Share
Also within the “Find People” Menu, go to “New People” and you will find plenty of closets to follow!
It is a common discussion in the Posh community that Poshmark LOVES when you help out new sellers. And it’s just a nice thing to do. They even suggest popping in and saying hello to the newbies and welcome them onboard!
These are just a few of the ways I have been able to explode my following on Poshmark!
